With the introduction of the Fair Work Ombudsman Voluntary Small Business Wage Compliance Code on 1 January 2025, the Fair Work Commission MAPD API offers significant advantages to Digital Service Providers (DSPs) by enabling the creation of powerful features benefiting employers. Data on Awards, Classifications, Wage-Related Allowances, Expense-Related Allowances, and Penalty Rates is provided and updated in real-time.
We recognised that the benefits of the Fair Work Commission MAPD API are optimal for providing an Award-centric payroll solution that assists employers in effortlessly embracing their Fair Work obligations and, now, the Voluntary Small Business Wage Compliance Code.
Since 2022, we have delivered real-time access to every published Modern Award, ensuring employers meet their Fair Work obligations.
Some employers have been unfamiliar with this new functionality, but we have successfully clarified the typical response: "I'm paying above the Award rate, therefore I don't need to enter the Award." by advising that this is not an acceptable approach to fulfilling their Fair Work obligations. Employers may have initially determined an Award to state that they are paying an above-award rate.
Employers moving from other payroll products were often confused by our requirement to link the employee to an Award, but once the benefits were explained, they openly embraced the change in their business processes.
Employers using our payroll solutions have expressed their commitment to meeting Fair Work obligations. They have enthusiastically adopted this initiative since its introduction and are pleased with the positive impact it has had on their workplaces.
Using the Fair Work Commission MAPD API has also made updating the Modern Award rates seamless when the National Minimum Wage changes.
Our Update Awards feature results from integrating the Fair Work Commission MAPD API. This tool helps streamline the complex process of adjusting wages in response to FWC's National Minimum Wage changes.
Employers also now have the option to decide whether their above-award rate should be adjusted to reflect the increase or absorbed.
This functionality is another example of the potential outcomes of having direct access to Government data to help employers meet their payroll compliance obligations.
To further support employers in meeting their Fair Work obligations, we recently released our new e-Time™ (Timesheets) feature and our new e-PayDay Employee Self Service app, ClockMeIn®.
We continuously work on creating new features and tools to help employers fulfil their payroll responsibilities, and we have numerous other exciting new additions on the way.
To better support the Voluntary Small Business Wage Compliance Code, legislation should be introduced that mandates the inclusion of Awards and Classifications on pay slips, providing employees with greater transparency in their employment.
The Award and Classification should also be provided on a pay slip to help ensure employers' compliance with the Award. This will empower employees with valuable transparency in their pay, fostering a more informed and trusting work environment. If an Enterprise Agreement is in place, it would be shown on the pay slip along with the name of the underpinning Award.

Employees benefit from clearly identifying the Award and Classification under which they are being paid, with minimum effort needed to implement this requirement. This straightforward inclusion offers additional assurance and the capability to verify that the employee is being paid accurately. This information is the foundation of the pay calculations.
All our payroll plans include these features, including our free offering for employers with fewer than four employees.
For over 38 years, we have been dedicated to assisting businesses with payroll. Our long-standing commitment to helping employers thrive reflects our genuine understanding of their compliance obligations and the ever-evolving requirements, well before Single Touch Payroll became the standard.
Our FREEPAY plan is also suitable for Accountants' and Bookkeepers' and offers centralised management of clients.
We developed our new cloud payroll software, e-PayDay Go®, from the ground up. In December 2022, we released the first beta version to a select group of customers. On June 15, 2023, we made the latest release available to everyone. In November of the same year, we began offering commercial paid plans. Since then, we have introduced hundreds of features and improvements, and we continue our development efforts with passion. e-PayDay Go® is establishing a new standard for the future of payroll software.
